Walter Evans Kidd papers, 1921-1969.

Collection comprises correspondence from colleagues and friends, professional materials and some biographical material. Also included are a small number of journals containing work by Kidd. The collection does not contain material representing Kidd's early years or the period after his retirement, nor is there extensive personal material included in the collection. There are no manuscripts of literary works. Materials relating to the Pineywoods Writers' Conference are found in the folder titled Literary Programs.

Walter Evans Kidd was a noted poet and author of short stories. He was born in 1901 and raised in the Portland, Oregon area. He was educated at the University of Oregon, the University of Iowa and the University of Denver.
